About River Services inc:

River Services, Inc. was started in 1987, by Rick and Linda Scholfield of Lenoir City, Tennessee. Their personal love of boating, and commitment to quality, craftsmanship and safety has ensured that RSI has a legacy of happy customers with beautiful docks. RSI specializes in fixed docks, seawalls, rip-rap, boat and PWC lifts, railways, and dredging.

These achievements doesn't come just from good intentions, of course. River Services Inc, achieves thse goals by using only high quality components, having all the proper safeguards and insurance, and by using the right equipment; RSI's tugboat - the Catherine L, two 100'+ construction barges, a crane, and a 4,700lb pneumatic hammer to drive piles into the lake floor.

River Services Inc is a member of the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce, and participates in the Baptist Hospital Nautical Mile; a boating event that benefits local causes.

Rick Scholfield has lived in the Knoxville area for 35 years. He received his Masters degree from the University of Tennessee in 1970. Rick served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot in 1971. After returning from Vietnam, he worked several years in the boat building business in Ft. Myers, FL. Rick started River Services, Inc. because of his love of boating. Rick and Linda are the parents of three children and the grandparents of three boys and two girls.

	RSI's tug boat, the Catherine L has twice won first place in the commercial division of the annual Lighted Boat Parade. When she's not busy showing off, the Catherine L is a vital construction tool for RSI.

	Our main construction rig includes two 100' barges, a mounted crane, and a 4,500 lb piledriver that is used to securely drive the supports for docks and other aquatic construction. Obviously, they serve more mundane purposes like bringing supplies and tools to the site.
